-Invited to Shorts Competition in the 66th Cannes Film Festival
‘Shafe’ of director Moon Byung-Gon(30) is invited Short Film Competition at the Cannes Film Festival. Director Moon, who graduated from Chung-ang University, directed short film ‘No more coffee break’ and ‘Finis Operis’, etc. And ‘Safe’ is a film about a female university student, who work in illegal gambling currency exchange office, and a man, who was addicted to gambling.
Last year in May, the film won the 3rd FILM GATE contest. At that time, the film received good reviews as follows ‘The film show that good story material come from observation about unordinary reality. Especially, description of actually present currency exchange office was good and a lot of tension.’
- 제66회 칸영화제 공식 단편경쟁 작품으로 선정
문병곤 감독(30)의 <세이프>가 제66회 칸영화제 단편경쟁부문에 공식 초청작품으로 선정됐다. 중앙대 영화학과를 졸업한 문 감독은 단편영화 <No more coffee break>, <불멸의 사나이> 등을 연출했으며 <세이프>는 불법 사행성 게임장 환전소에서 일하는 여대생과 도박에 중독된 사내의 모습을 통한 현대인의 슬픈 자화상을 그린 작품이다.
작년 5월 필름게이트 제3차 공모 선정지원 작품인 세이프는 선정 당시 ‘평범하지 않은 현실을 관찰하고 이야기에 반영하는 것만으로도 소재가 될 수 있다는 것을 잘 보여주었고 특히 실제 환전소의 묘사를 훌륭하게 표현하여 드라마를 추동하는 극적 긴장감이 빼어나다’는 평을 받은바 있다.
