The temporary exhibition <MISE-EN-SCENE>, which show video pieces including painting and photograph, will be held March 28th through June 2nd in the Samsung Leeum Museum of Art. On March 28, there is first lecture to Eve Sussman’s explanation of the work and senior researcher, who has organized this exhibition, Koo Kyung-hwa’s description of the work.
The senior researcher Koo Kyung-hwa said, “Before, a film was inspired from art. However, since when art, which was inspired a film, started appearing. It does not matter who was inspired first.” And she said about planning intention, “In this exhibit, ‘scene compositions’, that is to say ‘Mise- en-Scene’ were important. It force audience judge to important thing by themselves. The exhibit also designed without lines and language.”
In this exhibit, 15 works of eight artists, who has been active in the last decade, both at home and abroad was introduced. As a participated artist, there are ASE+F, Gregory Crewdson, Thomas Demand, Adad Hannah, Jung Yeondoo, Eve Sussman, Yang Fudong, Zin Kijong.
Especially, <89 seconds at Alcázar > of Eve Sussman became a motive of this exhibit. Artist Yang Fudong’s <The Fifth Night 2010>, which caught all eyes for a long time, is Installation Art, which play with 7 video at the same time. That was filmed for about 10-minute at a street of China. In limited space, movements of actors did not overlap. This is quite interesting.
On the other hand, the exhibit show will run through June 2 and second lecture will be opened.
삼성미술관 Leeum에서 3월28일에서 6월2일까지 회화와 사진을 포함한 영상작품들의 기획전시회 <미장센: 연출된 장면들>이 열린다. 3월 28일 전시연계 1차 강연회에서는 이브수스만 작가의 작품해설과 전시기획을 한 리움의 책임연구원 구경화씨의 작품 설명이 있었다.
구경화씨는 “이전에는 영화가 미술의 영감을 받았었다. 그러나 어느 순간부터 영화에 영향을 받은 미술이 등장하기 시작했다. 누가 먼저냐는 중요치 않은 것 같다.”고 말했다. 그리고 “이번 전시에서는 장면구성, 즉 미장센을 중요하게 생각했다. 그것은 관객이 스스로 중요한 것을 판단하게끔 한다. 음향은 있지만 언어가 배제된 영상을 기획했다.” 고 기획의도를 말했다.
이번 전시에는 최근 10년동안 작품활동이 활발한 국내외 작가 8인의 15점이 소개되었다. 참여 작가로는 ASE+F, 그레고리 크루드슨, 토마스 데만트, 아다드 하나, 정연두, 이브 수스만, 양푸동, 진기종이 있다.
특히 이브 수스만의 <알카자르의 89초>는 이번 전시의 모티브가 되었다고 한다. 관람객의 시선을 오랫동안 사로잡은 양푸동 작가의 <다섯번째 밤 2010>은 7개의 비디오를 동시 상영하는 설치미술로 중국 한 거리를 무대로 10분 분량을 촬영한 것이다. 비교적 협소한 공간에 각각의 배우들의 동선이 겹치지 않게 한 것으로 매우 흥미롭다.
한편, 이번 전시회는 6월 2일까지 열리며 2차 강연회도 열릴 계획이다.
